Clay’s Senior Pictures

I had the pleasure of working with Clay to create his senior photos upon his graduation from High School.

Clay is a very talented young man who is gifted in both academics and the arts. The family is a very tight group and I have known Clay’s father for many years and was honored to be asked to create these images for the family.

We did several shoots to create images within the areas of his high school that were important and also to include the family at this important time.

I am looking forward to seeing Clay when he returns from his freshman year of college.

We created some great images and had a lot of fun during the shoot.

I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Parks and her family to create a casual family image for their home last week. I was pleased with the outcome of the shoot and am looking forward to creation of final prints for the family.

Ms. Parks has not decided upon the final version of the image, once she learned that Photos by Q offers many different types of finishes to final prints that include metalic and canvas in addition to traditional matte and glossy finishes.

Langston Hughes by Neal Hamilton

Photos by Q was honored to create a photograph of Neal Hamilton’s original painting of Langston Hughes that was commissioned to hang in the newly renovated Cleveland Public Library branch named after Mr. Hughes.

This photograph posed several challenges to create a high resolution digital photograph due to the medium used by the artist and the sheer size of the work that measures over 40 inches. Mark Quinn of Photos by Q used creative lighting as well as digital techniques to retain the subtle textures of Neal’s work while allowing a print to be made on a large scale.

The painting was installed on 2/12/09 at the branch located at 10200 Superior Avenue Cleveland, OH 44106. You can read more about the painting and Neal at his website

Neil & Kay’s Wedding, Jan 10, 2008

It was such a pleasure to work with Neil and Kay to photograph their wedding on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009. Kay had wished for a little snow to make photos fun and she was granted her wish and then some! It made for an intresting day, but it did make for some wonderful photography in almost a fairy tale setting. It also made for some serious fun as you well see in the photos below (we made snow angles!).

Formal photos were created at the Cleveland Courthouse which lends a great background to any event.

The reception was held at Landerhaven and a very elegant affiar was had by all. i am looking forward to sharing proofs with them when they return next week!

Signature of Solon Member Guest Event

Photos by Q was invited to photogaph the Member-Guest Event at Signature of Solon last Saturday.

I enjoy working with the Signature team. The event was a very classic event and it was clear that the guests that I photographed enjoyed themselves throughout the entire evening.

Signature choose to take advantage of Photos by Q’s ability to print on site and produce quality prints right at their location. The photos that were taken at the event were framed in very elegant mirrored frames that were customized to commorate the event and presented to the people attending to take home when they left for the evening.

As with all Signature events, this event was a pleasure to work. I produce images for children for both Christmas and Easter every year as well as various other events, and I would recommend Signature of Solon highly to anyone looking for an event location.

Lana Perhacs of Mystic Image Video was awarded The Merited Professional Videographer Award by the Wedding and Event Videographers Association.  
WEVA MPV accreditation is a way to recognize the professional wedding and event videographer who is uniquely dedicated to his or her craft and to the success of a vital and growing creative service industry.
The MPV accreditation program offers this special recognition to WEVA International members who demonstrate their abilities by passing an industry-specific written examination and video image evaluations; and who regularly update their professional skills, both in conceptual and practical performance.
Photos by Q was requested to create a portrait for publication in WEVA publications to highlight this event and congradulates Lana on this outstanding accomplishment.

JoseV presented An Affair to Remember at the Galleria at Erieview though host Artist Review Today on April 25-26, 2008.
Jose’s work is an exciting line of art inspired by actual rhythms of the heart mixed with contemportary styles and designs.
